About the Service:
Access to Aged Residential Rest Home Level Care is following a Needs Assessment via Disability Support Link (DSL).
A person's level of care is decided by an assessment of their needs. Te Aroha Community Hospital is contracted to provide Aged Residential Care for clients 65 years of age and over.
Usually, a person looking to enter Rest Home Care has previously had a package of care implemented at home, which may include personal cares, medication oversight, Respite (if living independently) /Carer Support (if living with a main carer), access to Community Day Programme.
If an individual is assessed as requiring the next level of care, being long-term Rest Home Residential care, they or family / whanāu can contact our main office to enquire if a room is available in Lawrence House, our Rest Home facility. If we do not have a room available when the enquiry is made, you can place your name on our 'Wait List'.
There is a Daily Fee for care. Please ask your Needs Assessor about your eligibility to access a subsidy at the time of the Needs Assessment. Please refer to information provided online in regard to a Residential Care Subsidy
We provide 24/7 onsite access to nursing care and access to our local Health Practitioners. Our friendly, caring team aim to make this a welcoming and comfortable home for all long-term residents.
We encourage individuals who move into Rest Home care to continue to engage in their usual community or social activities. We have an Activities Co-ordinator to aid in accessing daily activities as well as a number of volunteers who provide social activities, including obtaining library books from our local library. We often have entertainment provided by visiting community groups.
We have a hairdresser visiting weekly, who provides a range of cuts/sets/perms at reasonable prices. We have a weekly Shopping Trolley for you to purchase toiletries or a treat.
